"We had to check in twice. We checked in early and when we went back they didn't have room assignments or any other record of our having checked in earlier. There was always only one person at the desk. Very frustrating from that perspective. The first time we tried our key it didn't work. We were at the very opposite end of the hotel and we had to go back to the desk to get the key to work. It was 4:00 in the afternoon on a Saturday and there was dirty linen and dishes all along the hallway on the second floor where our room was. Not just a dish or two, but a real mess. On the other hand, they were very accommodating when we asked for paper plates and plasticware to share a pie with the family in the lobby. The room was nice and was clean. Seemed to be a mixed bag. I think bottom line that the management needs to pay a little closer attention to what is going on. To be fair, I noticed the last day we were there that it appeared that a number of the housekeepers were developmentally challenged adults. Recognizing this made a difference in how we felt about the imperfections in our stay at the Craftsman Inn. I hope they don't change their policy on hiring developmentally challenged people, but make a better effort on their supervision and guidance. Thank you."

"First floor rooms can hear any footstps on teh second floor. They should sound proof the rooms so that customers can sleep without hearing the back and forth of he second story customers."

The Craftsman Inn is located in the village of Fayetteville, 10 minutes from downtown Syracuse. The property and its 77 rooms are completely furnished with Stickley Furniture and is located 3 miles from the Stickley Factory. The Craftsman has a restaurant, "Craftsman House", which services lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch. The hotel also offers meeting, banquet and reception facilities in the new Mission Room.
